The Upbeats - Striving to Deliver The Very Best in Live Party Music for Weddings, Birthdays and Corporate Events across Scotland and the UK
The Upbeats are a 4-piece band from Glasgow who perform rock and pop music from the 1950s to current chart hits. We are available for weddings, corporate events and functions across the central belt of Scotland.
Featuring four talented musicians on vocals, guitars, piano, bass and drums, each member has over 10 years experience performing live. Catering to all musical tastes, we can also provide a ceilidh service should you require it.
We offer three lead singers, complementing the many styles of music we play. This gives us the freedom to perform every song to its full potential, and to create fantastic harmonies.
Should you choose The Upbeats we guarantee a unique, unforgettable and 100% live music experience for your occasion. We always have a great time when we play, and it's our job to make sure you and your guests have one too!
We stake our reputation on providing a seamless, stress-free and professional service from the moment you contact us. Our goal is to offer you the best possible entertainment that your money can buy.
We pride ourselves on reading our audience to make sure everyone has a great time! To do this we play everything from 50s rock n roll, 60s soul, 70s funk, 80s new-wave, 90s britpop, 00s alt-rock, modern pop hits and pretty much everything in between. If your favourite song isn't here, just let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate!
We're constantly adding new material but to give you an indication of what you can expect, here's a selection from our ever-expanding repertoire:
We take professionalism very seriously and as such we will never ask couples to gatecrash your wedding or function. Because of this, throughout the year we organise public and private showcases, where you can come along and see the band perform to help you decide whether The Upbeats are perfect for your occasion.
Where possible we strongly recommend coming to see us in a live setting, so you can really get a feel for how we perform and interact with an audience!
Based on demand we frequently run small, private showcases from our rehearsal studio. Please feel free to contact us to find out when our next one will be!
Please check our Facebook events page for upcoming shows
We're currently in the process of preparing a full testimonials section however in the meantime you can check the Reviews section of our Facebook page!
If you have any other questions which aren't covered here please feel free to contact us and we'll happily get back to you as soon as we can.
Where are you based and are you willing to travel?
We are based in Glasgow and we frequently play throughout Central Scotland. As a guide, we are willing to travel approximately 70 miles to play. We may be willing to travel farther, so please feel free to contact us to discuss.
Can we see you perform prior to booking?
Yes, we perform at showcases throughout the year where interested parties can come and see us. We are also happy to invite you to our rehearsal studio where you can watch us play.
How long do you play for?
Our set typically starts at 8pm and ends at midnight, taking a half hour break during the buffet.
Can you learn our first dance for us?
Yes, we are more than happy to take requests for the first dance. We ask that your song choice is given to us at least 6 weeks before the wedding.
What happens during your break?
During the break we will play music from a CD or iPod at a moderate volume, allowing your guests to converse and enjoy the buffet. If you wish to provide a CD or iPod to be played during the interval we are happy to accommodate.
What happens if one of the band members falls ill?
In the unlikely event that a member of the band is unable to play, we have numerous experienced musicians from other wedding bands who could stand in.
How long do the band require to set up?
We always arrive at least an hour before we are due to start playing. Being a live act, we will require 45 minutes to set up.
Can the band provide a Ceilidh set?
Yes, we can provide a short Ceilidh set and also call the dances. Normally the ceilidh takes place after the buffet and while being entirely optional, we've found that having a short ceilidh is great for getting the guests back up dancing after eating.
